Am Anfang des Sommers entstand das Kornblumen-Stillleben. Endlich konnte ich meine neue Ölfarbe ausprobieren: »YInMn« . Vor einigen Jahren wurde dieses neue Pigment entdeckt. Es entstand aus Ytrium, Indium, und Mangan. Verschiedene Medien berichteten darüber von "das blaueste Blau" über "seit 200 Jahren das erste neue Blau" bis zu eher nüchternen Artikeln wie in der Online-Ausgabe von "Forschung & Wissen".
In dem Bild finden sich Indigo, Phtalo, Lapislazuli und YlnMn. Aus meiner Sicht liegen Lapislazuli sehr nah an YlnMn. Vielleicht sind aber auch nur meine Flächen zu klein gewesen?
Auch in dem zweiten Bild kam das neue Blau zum Einsatz. Das Vermeer-Bild "Das Mädchen mit dem Perlenohrgehänge" ist das Original. Dies ist meine Version des Bildes. Damit reihe ich mich ein, in als die gefühlt 123.289ste Kopie. Es ist einfach ein faszinierendes Bild.
Weiterhin einen schönen Sommer mit viel "blau"...

In summer, when the days are long and warm, the time is right for oil colours. The door to the terrace can be wide open (although it doesn't smell as much as one may expect ...) so there is an in-between of space, air, sky. At the beginning of the summer, the cornflower still life was made. At last, I could try out my new oil colour: "YInMn".
This new pigment was discovered a few years ago. It was made of ytrium, indium and manganese. Various media described it from being "the bluest blue" to "the first new blue in 200 years". Also more "dry" articles such as the online edition of "Forschung & Wissen"covered the pigment. In the picture, indigo, phthalate, lapis lazuli and YlnMn are found. From my point of view, lapis lazuli is very close to YlnMn. But maybe it was just the canvas that was too small?

The new blue was also used in the second painting . The Vermeer painting "The Girl with the Pearl Earrings" is the original. This is my version of the painting. With it, I add to what is the felt like 123,289 other copies. It is simply a fascinating picture.
